Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in 2008, commemorating the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. Data Privacy Day is now a celebration for everyone, observed annually on January 28.
It is focused on raising awareness among businesses as well as users about the importance of protecting the privacy of their personal information online, particularly in the context of social networking.
On this day, IEEE MUJ Student Branch will conduct a seminar on Hacking Demystified - II and an event CTF(Capture the flag). Raising awareness about data privacy is particularly crucial in light of recent legislative developments.

2. Capture The Flag (CTF)
- Hands on (computers required)
- This kind of event, a CTF, is very popular in hacker culture. It is multi-levelled. It involves performing a very specific 'hack' described in the challenge text for a specific level. On performing the 'hack,' theuser will receive a string of characters which essentially represents the password to the next level. This is the 'flag.' So the person that captures all the flags, wins!
